TN KY Border Bowl this Saturday

It's Tennessee high schools vs. Kentucky high schools in an old fashion border clash. No, its not the same as before, but this version of the border war between Tennessee and Kentucky High schools promises to be as exciting.

Are there some new twists on an old idea? You bet'cha. This bowl format will showcase skills of East Tennessee and Eastern Kentucky high school all-star players and is fittingly tabbed the Border Bowl.

The game is scheduled for this Saturday the 12th, in Southern Kentucky at James H. Taylor II Stadium, University of the Cumberlands campus, Williamsburg, Ky. Game Time is 1:00 pm.

The original All-Star Classic had been played traditionally at Commonwealth Stadium and a rotating Tennessee location previously. That series ended last year on a Kentucky win and was replaced in Tennessee by the Toyota East West All Star Game, played for the first time this past December at Burke-Tarr Stadium on the campus of Carson Newman College.

Tennessee is sending 43 of its best and brightest from the Eastern half of the state. Amongst them will be (stats thru 9 or 10 games):

The Tennessee squad will be lead by former Farragut coach Dan Bland, now the head man at Humboldt High in West Tennessee. His staff will include head coaches such as Austin Easts HC Kwayu Graham, Gatlinburg Pittmans HC Benny Hammonds Sweetwaters HC David Staff and Campbell Countys HC Dewayne Wells.
